Activating CloudLinux is relatively straightforward. However, the overall process will differ slightly dependent on what control panel you are using. Either way, please see below the step-by-step process of how to activate CloudLinux on your server.
Activating CloudLinux on cPanel:
To activate cPanel on CloudLinux, you’ll need to perform the following outlined tasks. Please follow the step-by-step process below.
- Login to your cPanel server via SSH as root
- Run the following command to download the activate tool
# wget http://repo.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux/sources/cln/cpanel2cl
- After downloading the above-mentioned installer, please run:
# sh cpanel2cl -k
- Once the key has been activated, you’ll need to reboot your server:
# reboot
- After the reboot, you’ll need to rebuild apache and you may do so by running the following command (outlined below):
# /scripts/easyapache --build
Once all the above steps have been completed, your cPanel server will be fully protected by your CloudLinux License. Having enabled CloudLinux on your server, you will now be able to take advantages of all the perks that CloudLinux has to offer.
Activating CloudLinux on other control panels:
The process of activating CloudLinux on other control panels, such as DirectAdmin, InterWorx, ISPmanager, Plesk and many others, is similar to that of cPanel with slight differences. For further information on how to activate CloudLinux on other control panels, please refer to the CloudLinux website for detailed information on the activation process.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to our hosting license team and they will be glad to answer any CloudLinux questions you may have.
We are using cloudLinux too for months and seems helpful for our hosting operatons so far.
