When it comes to statistics within cPanel web hosting accounts, nothing can beat AWStats. However, sometimes with AWStats you will encounter errors, but they are extremely rare and very far apart. Errors such as the one outlined below within your web hosting account.

cPanel AWStats Error:

"Cannot find TMP" or "Couldn't open config file_awstats"

cPanel Suggested Resolution:

We would suggest ensuring that you have allowed enough time for your cPanel web hosting statistics to be generated within your cPanel web hosting account. Generally, to generate the initial website statistics within your web hosting account can take around 24 hours from the time you enable them. So if you’ve not already waited 24 hours, we strongly advise that you do, as this problem should correct itself once they are generated.

However, there could be other issues at play causing this error message as well. Errors such as, your cPanel web hosting account is running an older version of AWStats that is no longer supported, or that there are permission problems from being able to access the "/tmp" or "file_awstats" from within your web hosting account.

Either way, please feel free to reach out to our web hosting support team and they will be glad to assist you further with your web hosting AWStats issue.
