If you are having issues connecting to a MySQL Database created within your cPanel web hosting account, this could be due to a couple of issues. These issues have been outlined below for your convenience:

  • Using the incorrect hostname, you should be using "localhost"
  • Your MySQL Database name is incorrect, or in the wrong format
  • Your MySQL Database password was incorrectly entered
  • Your MySQL Database username is incorrect, or in the wrong format
  • You have not assigned the MySQL Database username to your MySQL Database

Please verify all of the above points and make sure that they are correct. If they are correct, then there is another issue. If not, please correct them and your MySQL Database will be able to connect to your application.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to our web hosting support team and they will be glad to assist you further on getting this MySQL Database issue resolved.
